The Board of SDL plc announced on 20th June 2005 a proposal to acquire the remaining shares and intellectual property right in Trados for USD 60 million.

Trados is the market leader in translation memory software and has a very strong reputation.

Companies who use translation agencies specialising in Trados – such as B&K Projects – language office – do not need to keep investing in translation memory software to continue enjoying its benefits: better quality and consistency, a lower word price and shorter lead times.

The enlarged group – and translation agencies such as B&K Projects – language office – will be able to offer such companies new functionalities in a strongly globalising market in which efficient translation processes give a competitive advantage.

The acquisition is conditional on the approval of SDL shareholders but is unanimously recommended by the Board.

B&K Projects – language office will continue to invest in the latest translation memory software and will follow this development closely.
